Breathe And Lose Fat

Contrary to popular belief, you do not sweat or "shit out" most of your body fat. Based on a 2014 research paper, 84% of the fat you lose is turned into carbon dioxide and leaves your body through your lungs by breathing. The remaining 16% becomes water, which can be lost in many ways like sweat, urine or any other bodily fluid. This basically means that actual "fat loss" primarily occurs when you breathe. If you think about it, it makes sense. Working out makes you breathe more. The harder or heavier you lift or run, the more you breathe. On the opposite end of the spectrum, those who are overweight or sedentary breathe less because they do less. As the weight piles on it makes it harder to breathe and therefore making weight gain an easy thing. Before this gets misinterpreted, fat loss is still the result of a calorie deficit. If you consume fewer calories than your body expends in a day, your body burns primarily fat for energy. It's just that the way this fat leaves your body is mostly through breathing.
